OMNIS project exchange visit - When culture and nature are a source of inclusiveness and emotions 23/01/2025

We are delighted to share the inspiring experience of Drago Smoljanović, a member of the Split Association of Blind and Visually Impaired People, who recently participated in an exchange visit in Italy. This visit was part of an initiative where a panel of tourists tested and validated new itineraries and packages.

Drago was an integral part of this panel. During the visit, he was particularly amazed by the sounds of Furlo Park, highlighting the sensory richness that accessible tourism can offer. Drago also shared a poignant moment with us when he said that Urbino reminded him of the Versailles Residence, a place he remembered from when he could still see.

His feedback has provided us with essential insights into improving our services, ensuring that our itineraries and packages are more inclusive and enjoyable for everyone. We deeply appreciate Drago's valuable contributions and are committed to enhancing our offerings based on the insights gained from this exchange visit.

On the 27th of June, the participants of the OMNIS project gathered in a special location: Frontone Castle. Situated between the ancient centers of Cagli, Luceoli, Gubbio, Sentino, and Suasa, under Mount Catria, the territory of the Municipality of Frontone has been inhabited since ancient times.

The first documents mentioning the Castle and the civil community of Frontone date back to the 11th century. Its history is closely tied to the seignories of Cagli, Gubbio, and Urbino.

In 1530, the Castle and the territory of Frontone became a county of the Duchy of Urbino, a gift from Francesco Maria Della Rovere to the nobleman Gianmaria Della Porta. This status remained until the abolition of feudal jurisdictions following its annexation to the Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy in 1808, an abolition later renewed by Pope Pius VII in 1816.

Taking advantage of the unique setting, the project partners discussed the implementation of the final activities before the reporting period ends and deliverables are finalized.
