𝐏𝐍𝐂𝐑/𝐀𝐏𝐍𝐔 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐈𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐃 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐎𝐍 𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐊 𝐅𝐀𝐑𝐌

The People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) and A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) are compelled to address deeply troubling revelations that have resurfaced regarding the farm operated by the current President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, His Excellency Mohamed Irfaan Ali, at Long Creek.

The Party wishes to place on record that these matters are not new. In 2015, the State Asset Recovery Unit (SARU), operating under the then Ministry of the Presidency, conducted a series of investigations into allegations of corruption and misuse of public office. Among those investigations was one specifically concerning what was then referred to as the "Irfaan Ali Long Creek Farm".

During the course of that investigation, several critical facts were established:

1. The land in question was leased to one "Mohammed Ali." However, the National Identification Card presented in connection with that lease was not that of Mohammed Irfaan Ali, but rather that of his father.
2. Subsequent site visits to the farm revealed the presence of several foreign, Spanish-speaking nationals employed as workers at the location.
3. The farm was engaged in the rearing of chickens and imported cattle from Suriname. According to information gathered at the time, these cattle were reportedly part of an agricultural exchange programme with the Governments of Guyana and Suriname, prior to the APNU AFC Government taking office in 2015.
4. At the time of the investigation, the then-former President and Leader of the Opposition, Jagdeo, also maintained a large farm on the highway at Moblissa. Additionally, both parties (Ali and Jagdeo) were identified as joint operators of a farm located at Kamuni Creek in the Demerara River, where cattle and other items belonging to the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) were found.
5. The investigators, having completed their work, submitted comprehensive reports with the firm belief that the findings of the Long Creek farm investigation naturally formed part of the broader fraud charges that were being contemplated. Tragically, as events have since demonstrated, that was not the case. The investigation into the Long Creek farm was conspicuously excluded.

The investigators, in their wisdom and guided by the evidence, had recommended:
a. That there were breaches of the Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission’s Act and the terms of the lease.
b. The immediate repossession of the lands in question.
c. The institution of charges for misfeasance in public office against those responsible, since in the case of Irfaan Ali, he failed to disclose his dealings as per the Integrity Commission Act, where no disclosures were made.

The PNCR/APNU acknowledges, as a matter of constitutional law, that the Office of the President carries with it certain immunities. However, immunity from prosecution must never be construed as immunity from accountability, transparency, or moral responsibility.

In any functioning democracy worthy of its name, when allegations of this gravity surface—allegations involving the potential misuse of public office, questionable land leases, and the presence of foreign workers on a farm linked to the Head of State—it is an accepted democratic norm that those named voluntarily step aside to allow for a full, fair, and impartial investigation to proceed. Such a step is not an admission of guilt; rather, it is a demonstration of respect for the institutions of state and the confidence of the citizenry.

The PPP/C Government, regrettably, continues to defy this fundamental democratic standard. Rather than embrace transparency, they have chosen concealment. Rather than step aside to clear their names, they have clung to office while seeking to silence scrutiny.

The PNCR/APNU therefore calls upon all civic-minded Guyanese, regardless of political affiliation, ethnicity, or creed, to stand up and join this gallant and critically important call for:
1. The immediate resignation of both the President and the Vice President to allow for an unimpeded investigation;
2. An acceptable, transparent investigation to be conducted by impartial investigators with no political allegiance to the sitting administration; and
3. The restoration of democratic accountability as a cornerstone of our national governance.

The Guyanese people deserve leadership they can trust. They deserve leaders who place the integrity of the Office above personal ambition. They deserve a government that answers to the people, not one that hides from them.

The time for silence has passed. The time for action is now.
