👕AND THEY'RE OFF! CSEC T-SHIRT SIGNING🖋

Tuesday, June 09th, 2026 marked the final day of formal, written CSEC examinations across the nation.
At St. Joseph High, a cherished tradition continued once again, as our class of 2026 said their farewells, or "See you soon!" to their classmates and teachers, as they participated in the annual T-Shirt signing.

This year's batch, most of whom entered the school in 2021, have now completed their secondary schooling. All that's left...graduation!

Congratulations to the CSEC Class of 2026, we look forward to see your hard work pay off in the coming months!

🌱SHOUT4CHANGE 2026 RESULTS🗣

Friday, June 05th, 2026, on the occasion of World Environment Day, saw 20 students across Guyana, supported by their teachers and peers, participate in the 4th Annual SHOUT! Competition, aptly titled SHOUT4CHANGE, at the Ramada Georgetown Princess Hotel.

Following months of rigorous preparation, St. Joseph High School was represented by Emma Munro, a Grade 10 Arts student. Emma was selected by the Selection Panel of Recover Guyana, who are the coordinators of the SHOUT Competition, following her Video Submission in Phase 1 of the competition.
Having been selected as one of twenty other National Finalists, Emma was privileged to have attended three Capacity Building sessions over a three week period, including one such session taking the form of a tour to the ExxonMobil headquarters in Ogle, the Mangrove Centre at NAREI and the Turkeyen Mangrove mural.
Emma, having been coached by her teacher, Mr. Noah Rajak, with support from last year's participant in the SHOUT 3.0 Competition, Sabastian Khan, and with parental support in continuing her training, was successful in delivering her Prepared Speech for Phase 2 of this year's competition.
Her speech was based off of the prompt, "Understanding our environment is essential for protecting it. How can Geographic Information Systems (GIS) enhance environmental planning and conservation?". Emma had 90 seconds to deliver her speech and convince the Selection Panel, the competition's first all-female panel, to take her to the Top 10. She did just that!
Following her successful advancement to Phase 3 of the competition, the penultimate phase, Emma was among the Top 10, four of whom would advance to the final phase, the Standard Address. In phase 3, she was tasked with delivering a speech based off of a question posed from Guyana's Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS). Despite her best efforts, Emma was unable to advance to the final phase. Despite this, we are proud of Emma's achievement, her dedication to Environmental advocacy and commitment to the competition, and we know that she has formed bonds with a distinguished network of Youth Environmental Advocates.
Emma is now the 3rd representative from St. Joseph High School to participate in the SHOUT! Competition, following Yadesh Narine (Participant of the Inaugural SHOUT 1.0 competition in 2023, and the SHOUT 2.0 competition in 2024), and Sabastian Khan (Participant in the SHOUT 3.0 competition, 2025).
To this end, St. Joseph High School was among three schools who were presented with a special award for its steady commitment to Environmental Advocacy by participating in each iteration of the SHOUT Competition, since it's inception. Representing the school in accepting this award was Mr. Noah Rajak, an alumnus, teacher and coach to our SHOUT students.

🚴‍♂️AJANI CUTTING SECURES OVERALL TITLE AT NSC 3-STAGE ROAD RACE🚴‍♂️

Over the weekend, Ajani Cutting, a current Sixth Form student of St. Joseph High School, made history as one of the youngest cyclists to secure the Overall Title at the National Sports Commission's (NSC) Diamond Jubilee edition of the Independence Three-Stage Road Race.

An event sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, through the NSC and organised by the Guyana Cycling Federation, Ajani participated in three legs of cycling across Linden, West Demerara and finally, in Georgetown, across two days of gruelling competition.

What is even more remarkable is this marks Ajani's first tour as an elite athlete, having recently celebrated his 19th birthday, and despite narrowly missing out on a 1st place finish in the Georgetown leg, secured the overall title due to his consistent performance across all three legs of competition.

Ajani is testament to a balanced and productive academic lifestyle, as he is also currently sitting his CAPE Exams, having sat his most recent exam today.

Many congratulations to Ajani on his superb performance, and we look forward to seeing how he progress even further from here!
