The research unit was established in 2003 to conduct R&D in the domain of elearning engineering Computer Supported Learning Engineering Lab was established in 2003 by Dr. Symeon Retalis, Professor in the Department of Digital Systems, University of Piraeus. CoSyLLab members conduct research in the broader area of e-learning with emphasis on the engineering aspect of e-learning.

Professor Dra. Rocío Fernández (UCV Team) participated 3-4 July in International Congress with a presentation: “Generative Artificial Intelligence in Teacher Training: Practices to Learn, Create, and Reflect.

The Congress was held virtually and featured 277 presentations (17 nationalities), around various on current educational topics, including Artificial Intelligence in Education.

It is worth noting that the presentation by Professor Fernández iwas one of the most discussed of the Congress.

In her contribution, Professor Fernández-Piqueras presented her project carried out with two colleagues during the 2024–25 academic year, focused on integrating Generative AI into their courses.

The project involved 259 students (across 10 undergraduate and master’s level courses). It was a mixed-methods study based on quantitative data collection (pretest-postest measures, without a control group) and qualitative data from discussion groups. After the interventions, results were compared to determine whether there was a significant change in student learning.
