Η ομάδα των Amalgama Arch. Lab σχεδιάζει τη Villa Roja στα προάστια της Πάτρας, μεταμορφώνοντας μια διώροφη κατοικία και έναν παραδοσιακό πέτρινο ξενώνα σε ένα σύγχρονο οικιστικό περιβάλλον. Η ανακαίνιση αφορά στα δύο βασικά κτίσματα: την κύρια κατοικία, που διαμορφώνει την καθημερινή οικογενειακή ζωή, και έναν ανακαινισμένο πέτρινο ξενώνα με αποθηκευτικό χώρο και ιδιωτικό στούντιο μουσικής. Τα υφιστάμενα στοιχεία που διατηρούνται συνυπάρχουν με τον σχεδιασμό των εσωτερικών χώρων ενώ τα φυσικά υλικά, οι γήινοι τόνοι και τα απαλά χρώματα καθορίζουν τον διαχρονικό χαρακτήρα της πρότασης. Ο σχεδιασμός του τοπίου ενισχύει τη σύνδεση μεταξύ του κτιρίου και του φυσικού περιβάλλοντος που το περιβάλλει.

VILLA ROJA - LANDSCAPE

Τhe outdoor landscape unfolds effortlessly, shaped by dense greenery and two monumental, centuries-old plane trees that define the character of the site and give it a strong natural identity. Stone-paved paths connect the buildings in an organic flow, leading to a pool area directly linked to the main kitchen and a wooden pergola with barbecue and large dining table—designed for meals, gatherings, and moments of rest.

Between the plane trees, a stone pathway with arched details leads to a generous outdoor barbecue area with a wood-fired oven, a handcrafted table, and deep natural shade—an authentic social hub. Beyond leisure, the landscape embraces self-sufficiency through a small olive grove at the entrance and carefully tended vegetable gardens, reinforcing a sense of abundance, calm, and a grounded way of living.

VILLA ROJA - THE STONE GUESTHOUSE

An early-20th-century stone building with an L-shaped plan, brought back to life through a restoration grounded in respect for its authenticity. Originally divided into two distinct parts—one housing the cellar and a small guesthouse, the other accommodating staff—the building was reimagined to meet contemporary needs. Today, the first section functions as a guesthouse, while the second has been adapted into a storage space and music studio, preserving its original identity.

Stone remains the dominant material—honest and timeless—allowing the building to continue telling its story. The wooden roof was reconstructed without losing its traditional character. Enlarged openings allow natural light to glide across stone surfaces, revealing their warmth and redefining the interior experience.

The guesthouse unfolds as an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area designed for comfort and social interaction, where exposed wood and stone narrate the building’s history. Soft blue details subtly connect the interior with the surrounding landscape. The bedroom offers calm and privacy, while the bathroom balances traditional elements with natural light and modern functionality.

A dialogue between past and present, tradition and contemporary living.
