As the International Day of Hope comes to an end, we’re reflecting on the everyday moments when hope shines in our community — on the football pitch and basketball court where players lift each other up, in safe spaces where young people can breathe and nurture their wellbeing, and through long‑term integration support that helps individuals and families rebuild their futures in Greece. Lighthouse Relief’s programmes offer more than the relief and joy of participating in activities; they create stability, strengthen resilience, and build community for people seeking safety.

Ten years. Thousands of journeys. Countless moments of hope.

What began on the shores of Lesvos as an emergency response has grown into a decade of standing alongside people seeking safety through consistent, long-term mental health and psychosocial support.

Today, our work looks different than it did in 2016, but our purpose remains the same: creating spaces where people can find connection, wellbeing, and belonging.

Thank you to every community member, volunteer, partner, donor, and supporter who has helped keep the light on MHPSS over the last ten years.

A few moments from this week with Lighthouse Relief 💙

In the Corinth Community Garden, learning and connection was everywhere - from building a ping pong table to discovering new stories with the Eco Moving Library. On the basketball and volleyball courts, players lifted each other up in friendly games, creating spaces where growth, confidence, and belonging could flourish.

This week, we were especially excited to be joined by the Eco Moving Library at the community garden, giving everyone the chance to discover new books in a space built around curiosity and community. At the same time, our team started building a ping pong table to bring even more opportunities for play and shared joy.

We are also thankful to be collaborating with wonderful partners such as Meraki who share their vibrant and welcoming spaces with our team, helping us expand support and wellbeing together through care and creativity.

Sometimes, the most meaningful moments are the simplest: a helping hand after a game, conversations over a book, or spending time together outdoors.

Thank you to everyone who makes these spaces possible.
