Happy World Piano Day! 🎹 Celebrating the 88th day of the year with Julius Eastman's Gay Guerilla for two pianos from our Concert at the Εναλλακτική Σκηνή ΕΛΣ / GNO Alternative Stage of the Greek National Opera.
Eastman’s piece—raw, bold, and unapologetically groundbreaking—feels just as vital today as when he wrote it in 1979. It’s a reminder of why the piano remains such a powerful voice for storytelling, resistance, and joy.

Ο Erik Satie ήταν όχι μόνο ένας πρωτοποριακός συνθέτης, αλλά και μια εμβληματική φιγούρα της καλλιτεχνικής σκηνής του Παρισιού στις αρχές του 20ού αιώνα. 🎨🎹
Η φιλία του με τον Pablo Picasso, τον Jean Cocteau και τον Man Ray αποτέλεσε πηγή έμπνευσης για συναρπαστικές συνεργασίες που ένωσαν τη μουσική με τα εικαστικά. Από το πρωτοποριακό μπαλέτο "Parade" με σκηνικά και κοστούμια του Picasso, μέχρι τον σουρεαλιστικό κινηματογράφο του René Clair, ο Satie βρέθηκε στην καρδιά του μοντερνισμού.
Η εκκεντρική του προσωπικότητα και το καυστικό του χιούμορ τον έκαναν αγαπητό στους κύκλους των Ντανταϊστών και των Σουρεαλιστών, με τους οποίους μοιραζόταν το πνεύμα της αμφισβήτησης και της ανατροπής.
