Electric Litany emerged from London in 2007, founded by Alexandros Miaris and Richard Simic. In their formative years the band lived and rehearsed in abandoned buildings across East London, eventually recording their debut How to Be a Child and Win the War (2010, Inner Ear) in a deserted North London church with producer George Botis.

The album’s spectral soundscapes and stark intimacy earned them critical acclaim and established Electric Litany as one of the most intriguing voices of the underground. Their subsequent releases — Enduring Days You Will Overcome (2014, co-produced with legendary producer Alan Parsons), Under a Common Sky (2019), the Love EP (2016), and the Sonder EP (2022) — expanded their sonic vocabulary into a unique blend of post-rock, dream pop, and electronic minimalism. With each record, the band pushed further into uncharted territory while remaining committed to a raw, human energy at the core of their work. Electric Litany’s reputation has been amplified by their powerful live shows, with performances not only across Europe but also in the United States. They have appeared at international festivals such as Rockwave in Athens — sharing the stage with acts like The Prodigy, Interpol, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club — and Burning Man in Nevada, where their music was performed on the main stage in 2024

Their visual work has also received international recognition: the videos for Sealight and Refugee have won awards at the *Aesthetica Film Festival*, *ECU Film Festival*, and the *Motion Plus Design Shibuya Video Contest* in Tokyo, further underscoring the band’s distinctive artistic vision. In 2024 Electric Litany returned to the road with an acclaimed European tour, a prelude to their forthcoming fourth album, Desires (October 2025). Their most mature and ambitious work to date, Desires expands the band’s horizons with a bold and experimental approach, while preserving the emotional depth and improvisational spirit that have always defined their sound.
