In light of Ukrainian refugees arriving in Athens, our lawyer and social worker are working with interpreters to provide services in Ukrainian. Our lawyer can help with your legal asylum process ([email protected]), while our social worker can assist you with getting food, clothes, medical appointments etc ([email protected]). All services are completely free. Please share this valuable information!

"Trauma-informed Care at the Workplace" + "Self and Community Care : Working with Refugees and Asylum-Seekers"
Za'atar NGO is very happy and proud to partner with clinical consultant and psychotherapist Mego Nerses for a series of workshops on Trauma-Informed Care and Self and Community Care in the framework of its Atlas program dedicated to the support of LGBTQI+ asylum-seekers and refugees.

Mego Nerses (he/him) is a clinical consultant and trauma-informed registered psychotherapist based in Ottawa, Canada. Mego offers existential-humanistic psychotherapy in English, Arabic and Armenian languages. He specializes in trauma, sexuality, and mental health of LGBTQI+ refugees and asylum seekers. Mego has published and co-authored articles on the trauma of LGBTQI+ refugees, asylum seekers, and social justice. In addition, Mego is the recipient of the 2017 Humanitarian Award from the Canadian Counseling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) for his contributions to the wellbeing of LGBTQI+ refugees and asylum seekers in Canada. He also provides consultations, online courses, and workshops on trauma and mental health of LGBTQI+ refugees at the national and international levels.
