LIA HIDE

May 19th was established by the Hellenic Parliament in 1994 as the Day of Remembrance of the Genocide of the Pontic Greeks. On this day, May 19th 1919, Mustafa Kemal landed in Samsun, marking the beginning of the second phase of the Genocide of the Greeks of Pontos.

If you are in Athens, pass by Syntagma Square, where the Pan-Pontian Federation of Greece once again has a very beautiful and informative pavilion this year. And if you can bear it, read the descriptions and look at the images in the exhibition. At least 353,000 souls are still asking for justice.
