AfroCaribbean explosive musical alchemies, in an unpredictable and exciting psy-experimental dub landscape. Contemporary-dynamic-dance Electro-Dub,Afrobeats,Calypso and Soucous music in free improvisation, with sounds inspired by Africa and the Caribbean. Their music is authentic and distinctive, it manages to travel the audience in a uniquely imaginative world. For the story, there at the end of
the 1980s, and especially in the summer of 1987, Rasta's watermelon bunch eating under banana, stuck in stand panels outside Athenian clubs, gives the first geographical mark of music and feel the presence of the band. The sound of Ska and Rock Steady inspires and encourages Sakis Belegris, Costas Thomaidis and Alexander Metaxas to create the band. A warm welcome from the audience and critics has introduced DE TRACES and live performances at the clubs have become an institution for the band's image making. By the end of 1988, DE TRACES had their first record label debut in Studio II Collection, a composition of their own, entitled De Saints. In 1990, new members are added to the band, followed by the recording of Lord Creator's composition "Big Bamboo", released by D.T. At the same time, important steps are being taken in the direction of the group's professional career. Indicative: two-day live in Rodon club with Bob Marley's Wailers, participation in the Thessaloniki Film Festival party (in Mylos), radio interviews at various stations in Greece, television appearances and interviews (Mega Channel, ET 1, NET, Seven X), collaboration and concert with Teddy Josian Kinlock, musician from the Bob Marley band. In 1993 DE TRACES recorded a recording of their own entitled "Bill of Rights" released by FM Records collection entitled "Divin". In January 1996, DE TRACES accepted the invitation of the Ministry of Culture of Sudan and gave a concert there in front of an audience that has a long tradition of folk music and a warm relationship with Reggae. In autumn 1999, DE TRACES completes the remastering of anecdotal material from last year and releases via Coffee Republic their first cd entitled "ESTRELLA DEL CARIBE", an album featuring twelve band compositions featuring rhythms and tones. from Caribbean to Calypso, Soca and Reggae from Africa to Soucous and High-Life make it an integral part of their artistic creation and expression. In recent years, the band has played many concerts throughout Greece and has also opened concerts with Lee "Scratch" Perry, Mad Professor, Orville Richard Burrell CD (Shaggy), Misty in Roots, The Wailers, The Skatalites etc !!!
