Meet the People Behind DATAFIN: Our Lead Consultant, Mr Nuha Ceesay FCCA, MSc (Merit), PhD candidate, MAAT

At the heart of DATAFIN is Mr Nuha Ceesay, a seasoned Chartered Accountant with a proven track record in delivering high-impact financial solutions.

With an FCCA qualification, an MSc in Accounting (Merit), and MAAT membership, Nuha brings extensive experience from the United Kingdom. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Accounting and Finance, further deepening his expertise. He has successfully overseen finance system implementations for high-value projects worth over £2 billion, including Amazon and Sandpiper, and has worked with leading organisations such as Halifax Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Banking Group, Morrisons, and London North Eastern Railway.

He currently serves as the Managing Director of Beckett Accountants Leeds Ltd, providing strategic financial leadership and advisory services.

Known for turning complex financial data into clear, actionable insights, Nuha combines technical expertise with a practical, forward-thinking approach. Beyond his professional work, he is passionate about mentoring and empowering teams to build sustainable, data-driven organisations.

At Datafin, his vision is simple: to help businesses not just manage their finances, but truly understand them for smarter decision-making and long-term success.

The Tertiary and Higher Education Trust (THET) Fund is thrilled to welcome Mahzouba Maya Faal as the inaugural Digital Marketing and Branding Officer.

Maya is a seasoned communications expert with over a decade of experience in government communications, media, digital marketing, and public affairs. She has previously served at the Office of the Vice President, Ministry of Finance, Department of Information Services, and Ministry of Higher Education, strengthening public engagement, institutional visibility, and national communications strategies.

A storyteller with purpose, Maya holds a Bachelor’s in Journalism and Digital Media (Magna Cum Laude, top of her class) and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of The Gambia. Her creativity, professionalism, and results-driven approach will help amplify voices, shape narratives, and drive a bold vision for higher education in The Gambia.
