Transitions Dance Academy

Well done to all our dancers who performed at last night's Summer Nights opening! 💖

The performance itself was fantastic, but what made me even prouder wasn't just what happened on stage, it was everything that happened beforehand.

Over the last few days, the dancers had to learn multiple changes to choreography, formations and positions, often at very short notice because understandably not all dancers that were originally in each piece where available. Even our youngest dancers rose to the challenge with incredible focus and determination.

They proved that dance is about so much more than learning steps to music.

Dance teaches commitment. It teaches discipline. It teaches teamwork. It teaches adaptability when things don't go to plan. It teaches resilience, responsibility, confidence and trust. Most importantly, it teaches young people how to support one another and work towards a common goal.

None of those changes would have been possible without the dancers who attended rehearsals, listened carefully, worked hard and helped make the transition as smooth as possible. Your commitment made all the difference.

I couldn't be prouder of every single one of you. Last night wasn't just a celebration of dance, it was a celebration of the incredible young people you are becoming.
