Great to share radio with my youngest nephew. Today operating at 10w on 10m and propagation to USA was great.

Part 2 of the ZB2LGT activation. It's great to be part of a team to help make events such as these possible.

We are told about SWR and how important it is. However, having a low SWR does not necessarily mean your antenna is working.
For example, let's take an endFed antenna, what could go wrong?
After checking for continuity, I assumed my balun was fine.

Tried calling CQ and no one around? Propagation that bad?
Had a German station here me, and gave me a report, but the QSB was horrible.

SNR was lowish, but hey, that's why IC7300 has all these filters.

An excellent tool that is commonly overlooked, is the Reverse Beacon Network.

After spending some time on CQ CW, I realised that my station was not getting on air.
With a thorough check on my balun, I realised my aerial end had a dry joint causing these intermittent issues.

Some solder, and ZB3P is now back on air.

Don't we love Ham radio and it's challenges.
