A LIFE LIVED WITH PURPOSE
OUR WORD OF HOPE
ππππππππ
Friday 29th May 2026.
Scripture:
"For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord`s."
- Rom. 14:7-8
βοΈ The value of a life is not measured by its duration, but by its donation. When a person aligns their existence with the purposes of God, their impact does not end at the grave; it echoes into eternity. Today, as we transition our hearts to honour a great man of God, we look at what it truly means to live and die for the Lord.
βοΈ In these passage, the Apostle Paul delivers a profound truth about Christian identity and purpose: "For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lordβs."
* "None of Us Lives to Himself": To live a life of true purpose means breaking away from selfish ambition. A believer understands that their breath, their talents, their wealth, and their time are resources entrusted to them by God to bless others.
* "Whether We Live or Die, We Are the Lordβs": This is the ultimate statement of ownership. Our lives are bound up in Christ. When we live, our actions should bring Him glory. When we die, our transition is simply moving from serving Him on earth to beholding Him in glory. Death is not a defeat for the believer; it is a promotion.
βοΈ These verses perfectly encapsulate the life and legacy of the late Dr. Edward Atterh Narh, whose journey to the world beyond begins today with his burial service here in Tema, before his mortal remains are sent to his hometown in Krobo Odumase for his final rites and burial tomorrow.
Dr. Edward Narh was a true believer in Jesus Christ who understood exactly what it meant to not "live to himself." He lived his life as a vessel of God's love, deeply impacting countless livesβincluding my ownβthrough his unwavering generosity, compassion, and selflessness. He used his profession, his resources, and his time to lift others up, proving that a life anchored in Christ is a life of boundless fruitfulness. While we grieve his departure, we do not mourn like those who have no hope. We celebrate a race beautifully run and a purpose fully executed.
βοΈ Dr. Narhβs transition is a reminder for us today. How are we living? Are we living to ourselves, or are we living to the Lord? Let his exemplary life inspire us to stand firm in our faith, to give radically, to love deeply, and to serve selflessly. Let us ensure that when our own dawn comes, it can be said of us that we belonged entirely to the Lord.
βοΈ Dearly Beloved, let us lift our hearts to express our deepest appreciation to God. We thank Him for the Gift of Jesus, who broke the power of the grave. We thank Him for the Comfort of the Scriptures, which steady our grieving hearts today, and for the Victory won for us that guarantees we will meet our beloved father and mentor again in glory.
βοΈ Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for the profound gift of a life well-lived. We are grateful to You today for the life, faith, and enduring legacy of Your servant, Dr. Edward Atterh Narh. Thank You for the immense impact he made through his compassion, generosity, and selfless love. We thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus, who has swallowed up death in victory, and for the Scriptures that comfort us in this hour of transition. Lord, comfort his wife, children, family, his loved ones, and all of us who feel this loss. Grant us the grace to live our lives with the same kingdom purpose. We commit his final journey from Tema to Krobo Odumase into Your hands, knowing that whether we live or die, we are Yours in the name of Jesus. ππΎ
βοΈ Wishing us all a VICTORIOUS & REFRESHING WEEKEND in the name of JESUS !
Shalom Shalom !

PURIFIED BY HOPE: LIVING IN LIGHT OF HIS RETURN
OUR WORD OF HOPE
ππππππππ
Thursday 28th May 2026.
Scripture:
" Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure."
-1 John 3:2-3
βοΈ Apostle John wrote this epistle to early Christian communities to combat false teachings that sought to separate a believer's spiritual life from their moral behaviour. Some false teachers claimed that what a person did with their physical body did not matter. John writes this passage to dispel that deception, demonstrating that our future destiny with Christ must directly dictate our present lifestyle on earth.
βοΈ "Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be..."
John begins with an announcement of our current identity: we are now the children of God. This is not a future hope; it is a present reality. However, our current state is not the final product. The full scale of our future glory is currently hidden from human sight.
"...But we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is."
John provides a certainty ("we know"). The ultimate climax of history is the physical return of Jesus Christ. When He is revealed, a supernatural transformation will occur. By beholding Him in His unfiltered glory, we will instantly be made like Himβreceiving perfected, sinless, and glorified resurrection bodies.
βοΈ "And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure."
This is the demand of the Gospel. True biblical hope is never passive. If a believer genuinely expects to spend eternity with a holy Saviour, that expectation should act as a purifying agent in our daily life. To purify oneself means to clean up one's motives, thoughts, and actions, using Christβs absolute perfection ("just as He is pure") as the ultimate standard.
βοΈ All are God's creation but not all are God's children. According to the New Testament, the children of God are distinct from the rest of creation in several fundamental ways:
1. They Are Born of God: They are not merely part of humanity by natural birth; they have been spiritually reborn through faith in Jesus Christ. They carry the spiritual DNA of their Heavenly Father.
2. They Possess a Different Identity: While the world derives its identity from performance, status, or culture, the children of God find their worth entirely in the Fatherβs unmerited love.
3. They Have Different Appetites: The world lives to satisfy the desires of the flesh and the pride of life. The children of God, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, develop a hunger for righteousness, truth, and holiness.
βοΈ It is the hope of sudden and absolute transformation at Christ's return.
Imagine an ambassador preparing for an urgent, face-to-face meeting with a great king. They would naturally wash, groom themselves, and ensure their garments are spotless.
Similarly, the hope that keeps us pure is the constant, eager expectation that Jesus is coming back, and we will stand before Him. We cleanse our lives from compromise, malice, and secret sins today because we do not want to be caught off guard or ashamed at His appearing. This hope reminds us that our bodies are not instruments for sin, but holy temples destined for eternal glory.
βοΈ Dearly Beloved, let us lift our voices this morning to appreciate God for the comfort, hope, and transforming power found in His written Word and the glorious Gospel. The Gospel is not a list of rules; it is an invitation into a royal family of God. Let us celebrate the magnificent truth that because Jesus Christ rose from the dead and is coming again, we have been given a glorious destiny that elevates our character and keeps our steps secure.
βοΈ Heavenly Father,
We thank You this morning for the privilege of being called Your children. Thank You that our identity is completely anchored in Your great love. We praise You for the comfort and hope of Your Holy Word, which shines brightly in a dark and confusing world.
Lord Jesus, we express our deepest gratitude for the promise of Your return. Thank You that one day we shall see You as You are and be made completely like You. Forgive us for any area where we have allowed the compromises of this world to stain our garments. Today, we let the hope of Your appearing purify our hearts, our thoughts, and our actions. Grant us the grace to walk in holiness, reflecting Your purity to everyone we encounter in the name of Jesus.
βοΈ Wishing us all a JOYOUS AND VICTORIOUS DAY in the name of JESUS !
Shalom Shalom !

JESUS CHRIST IS OUR SURE ANCHOR OF HOPE
OUR WORD OF HOPE
ππππππππ
Wednesday 27th May 2026.
" Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become a High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek."
-Heb. 6:17-20
βοΈ The Book of Hebrews was written to Jewish Christians who were facing severe social alienation and intense persecution for their faith. Under this immense pressure, many were tempted to drift away from the Gospel and retreat back into the Old Testament way of worship. The author wrote this passage to anchor their drifting faith, proving that God's promises are not fragile wishes but are backed by the ultimate legal guarantees of heaven through Jesus Christ.
βοΈ "...The immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie..."
God wanted to prove beyond all doubt to the heirs of salvation (believers) that His purpose or counsel is immutable (completely unchangeable). To do this, He bound Himself to two unchangeable things: His Word and His Oath. In ancient culture, a person's word was binding, but an oath settled all legal disputes. Because God cannot lie, His word is already perfect; by adding an oath, He provides strong consolation (powerful encouragement) for us who have fled for refuge to grab hold of the Gospel.
βοΈ "This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil..."
A ship in a storm drops its anchor down into the dark ocean floor to catch onto unseen rocks. However, the believer's anchor does not go down into the earth; it goes up into heaven. Our hope is an anchor of the soul that passes straight through the spiritual skies and attaches itself behind the veilβinto the Holy of Holies, the very throne room of God. It is sure (it will not break) and steadfast (it will not slip).
βοΈ "...where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become a High Priest forever..."
When a ship could not fit into a stormy harbour, a smaller boat took the ship's anchor line and carried it into the safe harboir to tie it off. That small boat was called the forerunner. Jesus is our spiritual Forerunner. He carried our anchor line into the absolute safety of the Fatherβs presence and tied it to the throne. Because He is our High Priest forever, our connection to God can never be severed.
βοΈ The hope we hold onto in Jesus Christ is not a vague wish for a better life; it is a specific, robust expectation of our eternal destiny:
1. The Hope of Eternal Security: We have the absolute certainty that our sins are completely forgiven, our past is wiped clean, and our place in the Kingdom of God is legally secure.
2. The Hope of Total Restoration: We have the hope that this present broken world, with all its grief, sickness, and pain, is not our final reality. We are guaranteed a resurrected body and an inheritance that can never fade away.
3. The Hope of Continuous Access: We have the hope that we are never isolated from God. We have an open invitation to enter His presence for help, strength, and mercy at any moment of the day.
βοΈ Most anchors are dropped into rocks, sand or mud, which can shift during a violent storm. The believerβs hope is completely unique and perfectly sure for two reasons:
* It Is Anchored in an Unchanging Person: Our anchor is tied directly to Jesus Christ, who is "the same yesterday, today, and forever". It does not depend on our unstable emotions or changing circumstances, but on His permanent victory.
* It Is Fastened to an Immovable Location: Our anchor is hooked into the heavenly sanctuary behind the veil. The economy may go down and investments we think were safe may be lost, kingdoms may fall, and societies may shake, but the throne room of God can never be shaken or disrupted.
βοΈ Dearly Beloved, let us appreciate God Our Father for the deep comfort, steady peace, and unshakeable hope found in His written Word and the glorious Gospel. The Gospel is our ultimate safety announcement. It reminds us that no matter how violently the storms of life rage around us, our souls are completely safe because they are tied directly to the Risen Christ. Celebrate the beautiful truth that our anchor holds, our Saviour reigns, and our future is entirely secure.
βοΈ Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank You this morning for the certainty of Your Holy Word. We praise You that You have given us strong consolation by backing Your promises with Your unchangeable Word and Your holy Oath. Thank You that in a world full of lies and disappointments, it is entirely impossible for You to lie.
Lord Jesus, we express our deepest gratitude to You for being our faithful Forerunner. Thank You for carrying the anchor of our souls behind the veil and securing us directly to the throne of grace. Forgive us for the times we have allowed the winds of anxiety or trial to make us panic. Today, we choose to rest in the knowledge that our anchor is sure and steadfast. Hold us tight in Your love, and guide our steps through this day in absolute victory in the name of Jesus. ππΎ
βοΈ Wishing us all a GLORIOUS DAY in the name of JESUS !

WAITING IN HOPE
OUR WORD OF HOPE
ππππππππ
Monday 25th May 2026
" Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance"
-Rom. 8:23-25
βοΈ Apostle Paul used this passage to show that our present trials cannot compare to the future glory awaiting us.
* Verse 23: "...Even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body."
Paul acknowledges that believers are not immune to the pains of human existence. We have the firstfruits of the Spiritβa down payment and taste of heavenβyet we still "groan." This inward groaning is not a cry of despair, but a labor pain of intense anticipation. We are waiting for the final, physical stage of our adoption: the resurrection and glorification of our physical bodies, where mortality is swallowed up by immortality.
* Verse 24: "For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope..."
The nature of biblical hope is entirely different from human wishing. It is a confident, joyful expectation of good. Paul clarifies that hope, by definition, deals with the unmanifested future. Once a promise is physically visible, hope is no longer required.
* Verse 25: "But if we hope for what we see not, then we do with perseverance eagerly wait for it."
βοΈ Because our final reward is currently unseen, it demands a specific spiritual posture: perseverance βpatient endurance, remaining steadfast under heavy pressure. We do not wait passively or sluggishly; we wait eagerly, standing our ground with unshakeable confidence.
βοΈ Believers are saved in the specific hope of total and ultimate restoration.
1. The Hope of the Glorified Body: We are saved knowing that our current struggles with aging, sickness, physical weakness, and temptation are temporary. Our hope anchors us to the day Christ returns and transforms our lowly bodies to match His glorious, resurrected body.
2. The Hope of Full Inheritance: We are saved in the hope of stepping into our full rights as legal heirs of God. This includes an eternity free from the presence, power, and penalty of sin, ruling alongside our Saviour.
βοΈ Waiting on God's timing in a difficult world is a daily discipline. We can maintain this patient endurance through these spiritual habits:
* Anchor Your Mind on the Unseen Reality: Do not allow the visible, temporary challenges of today to dictate your joy. Let us fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. Train your mind to view present trials through the lens of eternity.
* Lean heavily on the Holy Spirit: You do not have to generate perseverance in your own strength. The Holy Spirit inside you acts as the "firstfruits," constantly reminding you of the glory ahead, comforting you in your groaning, and injecting divine strength into your weariness.
* Keep an Attitude of Eager Expectation: Biblical waiting is active, not passive. Wake up every morning with the expectation that God is faithful to perform His Word. Let your daily actions reflect the confidence of someone who already knows the victory is won.
βοΈ Dearly Beloved, let us appreciate and thank God for the comfort, endurance, and hope found in His written Word and the glorious Gospel. The Gospel is our ultimate reassurance that our present suffering is not the final chapter of our lives. Let us celebrate the reality that because Jesus Christ broke out of the grave, our hope is alive, our future is secure, and our waiting will culminate in unsurpassed glory.
βοΈ Heavenly Father,
We thank You this morning for the unshakeable anchor of Your Word. We praise You for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which fills our hearts with a living hope that shines brighter than the darkness of this world. Thank You for saving us and for sealing us with Your Holy Spirit as a guarantee of the glorious inheritance awaiting us.
Lord Jesus, we acknowledge that while we groan in this temporary world, our eyes are fixed firmly on You. Give us a fresh infilling of Your Spirit today to wait with absolute perseverance and eager expectation. Strengthen our knees when we feel weary, and quiet our hearts with Your peace. We step into today knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You started in us in the name of JESUS π.
βοΈ Wishing us all a BLESSED & VICTORIOUS WEEK in the name of JESUS !
Shalom Shalom !
