Sight for Development

In 2015, the African Union Commission formulated its Agenda 2063 i.e. The African Union (AU) Vision 2063: “The Africa We Want”, 2015. We are inspired by Agenda 2063 to play a lead role in the demonstration of a link between blindness and development. Vision is often presented as a disease to policy makers and health planners. We will sustain a campaign for the profile of eye health needs to be changed from a disease to a development imperative; to be people-centred; to ensure quality; to eliminate barriers to access to eye health services especially for women and girls; and demonstrate that eye care is an investment in the health of women.
