SCREWED
EPISODE 2 — Church and Choices
Sunday morning felt strange. The noise from Saturday had faded, replaced by soft hymns playing from someone’s speaker down the corridor. I woke up early, still unsure what the week ahead would look like.
As a fresher, I was still living under Daddy and Mummy’s advice: “Find a good church and keep your head straight.” So I dressed neatly, ironed shirt, polished shoes, trying to look like someone who had life figured out.
Kbee turned over in his bed and groaned. “Ei, church boy, where are you heading this early?”

During worship, I remembered my girlfriend back home. We hadn’t exactly ended things — I had just told her I wanted to “focus.” But I knew what that really meant. I wanted a break from everything. From the calls, the expectations, the guilt of pretending I could balance love and life.
After service, Linda turned to me. “You’ll like it here. Just stay focused. Don’t follow the noise.”
I smiled. “I’ll try.”
When we got back to the hostel, Kbee was waitin
