Today makes one year since my sister left this earth.
Losing a sibling changes you in ways words can’t fully explain.
She was my best friend, my safe place, my constant.
While I was sick and fighting for my own life, I wasn’t able to be there in her final moments and that’s a weight I still carry. This year tested me, stretched me, and broke me open in ways only love and loss can. I quietly battled depression, learning how to smile through the pain and keep moving anyway.
I don’t share my family often, not because the love is small, but because it’s sacred.
Today I honor her, our bond, and the part of me that will always belong to her.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Until we meet again.
