Steve Harvey's visit to the Elmina and Cape Coast slave castles in Ghana was a profound experience for him. He expressed, "I could feel my ancestors on me," highlighting the deep emotional connection he felt during the visit.

This journey not only brought him closer to his heritage but also served as a powerful reminder of the struggles and resilience of those who came before him. His reflection underscores the importance of remembering history and honoring the legacy of our ancestors.

The American comedian and TV host was joined by his family as they visited Elmina Castle and Cape Coast Castle in 2019.

This was real pain I felt going back to Ghana’s slave castles…I could feel my ancestors on me… Powerful beyond words that I can explain. I encourage as many of you as possible to go HOME for your ancestors. Their strength is in each of us and we must honor their ultimate sacrifice in all that we do.
