Richard Addai praised the impact of the DiWAOW initiative under the HAPPY Program, highlighting how the program is creating opportunities for young women in agricultural mechanization. He specifically commended Lawrencia Essien, Jumai Alhassan, Mary Yaboah, and Grace Tachie, who transitioned from trainees and interns to permanent staff of the African Agribusiness Consortium (AAC).

According to him, the young women showed commitment, discipline, and a strong willingness to learn throughout the training and internship period. Through hands on experience, they gained practical skills in tractor operation, ploughing, harrowing, machinery calibration, and equipment maintenance, preparing them to effectively support mechanized farming operations.

He noted that their dedication and ability to apply their training in real work environments earned them the permanent roles at AAC. Richard Addai added that their success demonstrates how programs like DiWAOW can empower young women with the skills and confidence to thrive in agricultural mechanization and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s agricultural sector.
