The Economic Fighters League expresses deep concern over the recent donation of U.S. armored vehicles to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), valued at over $6 million. This move, under the guise of enhancing counter-terrorism and border security, raises questions about the true intentions behind such military aid.
U.S. Marine Corps General Michael Langley, Commander of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), has been actively engaging with West African nations, including Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Côte d’Ivoire, discussing security threats and partnerships . While these discussions are framed around regional stability, they often coincide with increased military support and presence.
The timing of this donation is particularly concerning. It follows General Langley's visits to several African nations and discussions about security threats in the Sahel region . Such actions suggest a strategic alignment that may not necessarily serve the best interests of the African people.
We urge all Pan-Africanists, revolutionaries, and youth across the continent to join us on May 25 for the event. This is not solely about Burkina Faso; it is a stand against the broader implications of foreign military involvement in Africa.
