NAPS!! In the heat you might be struggling to sleep soundly at night and tempted to nap in the day. Should you?
Research is telling us yes ... and no!
Yes - to short naps - less than 30 minutes, preferably before 4pm. This can reset cortisol levels and help you feel more alert and are healthy for most people. However longer, or later daytime sleep, reduces the sleep drive at night and can negatively affect heart health - amongst other issues.
So if you're going to be a napper - be intentional and controlled about it, make yourself comfy, set a (nice sounding) timer and give your body what it needs - without guilt.
