Zero Strays Georgia exists to eliminate stray animals from the streets of Georgia one dog at a time. We estimate that there are up to 500,000 stray dogs and cats in Georgia, a country of 4 million inhabitants. Today, Medea came to Tbilisi for tests. As you know, we're treating her for heartworm. She's completed the preparatory treatment phase, and it's now time to start the injections—which means she needs to be temporarily fostered in Tbilisi (at a higher cost) and brought to the clinic several times a month.
Today's tests came to around 380 GEL. The Zugdidi–Tbilisi taxi costs 400 GEL (and she'll need at least two more trips). Fostering will likely cost GEL400-500. All in, next month's foster care, food, treatment, and transport will exceed 2,000 GEL—and we can't manage it without your support.
