we are attempting to repurpose the Soviet digital technology by adding a new artistic value. while magnifying the images it was a big surprise to find out how some of them look like landscapes, different objects or scenes.

The presented collection unites the images
produced from the glass sheets found in an abandoned Soviet-era factory. “Mioni” („მიონი“) factory manufactured home appliances as well as military inventory; However, large part of the production was secret – and implied manufacturing of micro schemes and semiconductors. Images applied to the glass sheets represent various parts of micro-sized schemes, that we have magnified and printed on gelatin silver paper using analogue method, attempting to repurpose the Soviet digital technology by adding a new artistic value. The graphic representations give us a visual understanding of the Soviet-era digital world.
