There was a man from the land of the brave
To Scotland poetry, he gave.
Known for ‘Auld Lang Syne’,
‘To A Mouse’ and more,
Your rhymes and poems we do adore.
Rabbie Burns we celebrate your birthday today
257 years old is an accolade we say.
Your works and legacy continue to inspire,
And tonight we shall enjoy haggis ‘n’ tatties by the fire.
To recite your poems and sing ‘Ae Fond Kiss’
Oh, your lyrical genius we so do miss.
