Last push on site in East Devon. A beautiful restoration of an old barn.

Have ben out of the office for the last 2 weeks exploring the Dolomites… mainly on skis. What a beautiful place!

| Concept design

The lovley clients wanted a bigger family kitchen/dining room to replace the existing pokey kitchen, which is currently within a poorly constructed single wall extension.

Their initial thoughts were to do single storey extension across the whole rear of the property. However a sww drain sits bang in the middle! So to avoid having to deal with the compliated, time consuming and expensive ordeal of moving a drain, it was proposed that the kitchen moves into the existing dining room (which was under-used space) & a new replacment extension be built(within the same footprint) creating space for an additional utilty and downstairs wc/showerroom.

The extension is the tied in with a pergola painted in the same colour as the fascias creating an outdoor space that feels integral to the internal areas.

Also suggestions of hiding all the existing drainage behind timber covers and raised flower beds.

Finally escaped our beautiful island for the warmer island of Mallorca! Colourful streets, organic shapes, historic beauties and modern villas! Architecture wins!
