Everybody is different, and some may feel more comfortable going back to work sooner after treatment than others.
When you do decide to go back to work, be sure to speak to your employer about any special arrangements or needs you may have.
What risks are associated with a colonoscopy? In this short video, Dr. Rajeev Peravali explains the minimal risks that can be associated with the colonoscopy procedure which include bleeding and perforation of the bowel. While these risks sound scary, the colonoscopy is a safe procedure and one you do not need to be concerned about at all.
Having gallstones is common, but you must be aware of important things to look out for that may need urgent medical attention.
Severe abdominal pain which does not respond to paracetamol, fever, shakes/ shivers and ‘going yellow’ are all important and may be signs of complications that need urgent medical attention.
If you suffer with upper abdominal pain that is worse after eating, gallstones may be the cause. Dr Peravali would be happy to discuss any investigations with you: https://midlandscolorectal.co.uk/gallstones/
