Day 2 – My Grandad’s War Journal

Today I’m sharing pages 2 and 3 of my grandad’s handwritten journal, written just after the end of WWII while he was still stationed overseas.

These pages aren’t about battles or medals — they’re about missing home, everyday work, long journeys, and quietly counting the days until he could be with my nan again.

It’s strange reading how normal life carried on, even after the war had officially ended.

One page at a time, I’m finally transcribing his words so they’re not lost.
