Transport Focus’s latest survey highlights what lorry drivers have long known: the UK needs safer, more accessible roadside facilities.

📊 Key findings:

Only 37% of drivers are satisfied with the availability of stopping places.
Logistics and coach businesses feel the pinch too, with just 22% satisfied.
Demand for parking far outpaces supply—21,234 lorries need parking nightly, yet managed sites fall short by nearly 4,500 spaces.
Michelle Gardner, Logistics UK’s Deputy Director – Policy, calls for urgent action:
✅ Match funding to improve sites
✅ Stronger emphasis on rest stops in planning
✅ New infrastructure projects to prioritize driver facilities
