LIKE ROME - at least one of whom was in mid-00s Sheffield ear-splitters Mirimar Disaster - are your proper blood-curdling concrete-crushing hardcore metal. It's a brutal and violent noise - though oddly their drummer, serious tattoos and close-cropped hair notwithstanding, has the joyful air of a kid in a massive toy shop, even when he's smashing the hell out of the kit at lightning speed. And then they touch on that most rock'n'roll of subject matter... family days out to National Trust stately homes and specifically the tea and cake there. Or so they say. Frankly he could be rasping and yelling about anything. Question to hardcore hardcore fans, if you know what I mean: do you get attuned to the point where you can hear the actual lyrics?
