The return to Edinburgh was ace!! Both The Last Days of Pompeii and SSID 'DRIFT' absolutely smashed their mix challenge, soundtracking a wicked afternoon back at West Port Oracle 🫶

Both mixes journeyed through house, funk, and disco, with a few delightful curveballs along the way 🔥🔥🔥

Tomorrow's first challenger into the 'Dig Deep' mystery mix is all-round vinyl enthusiast and talented DJ/producer, The Last Days of Pompeii 📀🥳

Having a keen interest in wax has allowed Ru Stewart the opportunity to build his own collection from diggin' through second hand racks, influenced by his love of rare find 80s disco, boogie, and broad ear for quality house music. To back up these intentions is his creativity in the studio too, exploring synths and drum machines inspired by these same golden eras of music. His output has gone on to receive support across BBC Music Introducing and BBC Radio 1, as well as from his peers in the music industry across Edinburgh and afar.

While he continues to develop his ideas blending analog with digital instrumentation as a musician, his love for vinyl also develops; as a collector but also a cutter. Safe to say he knows his way around a box of records. Perfect, then, to take on the challenge!

'BBS Dig Deep' returns to Edinburgh for an exclusive stop off, in conjunction with Black Beacon Sound's '10 Years Tour' 🎂

And we're excited to add another expert selector to the roster; The Last Days of Pompeii > Edinburgh-based DJ, producer, record cutter, and live act, with a liking of house and disco inspired by 80s groove pioneers and rare jams 🔥

The second guest on the line-up is a return to the stacks for DRIFT founder > SSID, who takes his 'Dig Deep' mix into round two after an electrical-outage last time round! Expect an inquisitive selection of grooves-slightly-leftfield 😏

📀💿 Come by the West Port Oracle from 3pm - 6pm and dig amongst the crates yourself as we bring our mobile record shop back to Edinburgh. Then hear the mixes live and direct from 7pm - 9pm 🔊
