When someone sits or lies in the same position for long periods, pressure can reduce blood flow to the skin, causing soreness and damage.

People may be at higher risk if they:

🔹 Spend long periods in bed or sitting
🔹 Have fragile skin
🔹 Are eating or drinking less
🔹 Have reduced sensation

How can we help prevent them?

✔ Keeping skin clean and dry
✔ Encouraging fluids and nutrition
✔ Using recommended pressure-relieving equipment
✔ Reporting redness or skin changes early
