Are you an unpaid carer? An unpaid carer is anyone who supports somebody living with an illness, disability, mental health condition or addiction and they cannot cope without your support.
On Monday at 10am you can start Carers Week with our 'Welcome to Carers Week' Webinar - whether you’re a carer, professional, partner organisation, or someone passionate about supporting unpaid carers, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn, connect, and share best practice. Hosted by Carers Leads from Reading Borough Council, Wokingham Borough Council, Berkshire Health Foundation Trust and Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, this engaging session will explore key topics including peer support and wellbeing, identifying carers, co‑production and carers’ voice, and carers’ rights and employment. . You can help play a part in bringing Reading’s new Climate Action Plan to life.
More than 450 local people helped create a Shared Vision for a Climate Friendly Reading and the action plan.
Now Reading Climate Change Partnership is encouraging individuals and community groups to get involved in making it happen.
An online talk introducing the Reading Climate Action Plan 2025-30 is taking place on Monday 8 June, 12.30-1.30pm, followed by a series of workshops focusing on the themes of nature, energy, waste, food, water and travel.
