Over the last 16 years, I’ve lost count of how many women have told me they’ve previously been coached with phrases like…

“Push through the pain.”
“You just need more motivation.”
“Be more consistent.”
“Work harder.”

I’d rather ask:
“How does that feel?”
“What’s realistic for your life right now?”
“How are you recovering?”
“What support do you need from me?”

Because good coaching isn’t about making people feel bad for struggling.

It’s about helping them build strength in a way that actually works for their body, lifestyle and season of life 💜

The shift isn’t softer.
It’s smarter.

Have you ever had a coach or PT say any of these to you, or something that made you feel like you were failing?

Missed a session? 🫣

You haven’t ruined anything 😍

One missed workout doesn’t undo weeks of consistency — just like one piece of cake doesn’t make you
unhealthy.

Progress lives in the pattern, not the perfect week.

Just go back to your normal routine.
💜No punishment.
💜No overcorrection.
💜No drama.

10+ years of friendship and training together… and somehow we’re still not sick of each other 😅

I think we deserve a medal at this point.

People sometimes assume training has to be serious all the time.

But when training becomes part of your life — not just something you do for a few months — it stops feeling like a chore.

You train through the different seasons of life.
You adapt when things change.
You keep showing up.

And if you’re lucky enough to do that with people who make it enjoyable (and occasionally ridiculous), it becomes something you actually look forward to.

Strength isn’t a short-term project.
It’s a lifelong one. 💜

Be honest… could you train with the same person for 10 years?
