For 2026, we’re highlighting the organisations that were successful in receiving the Interlink and Voluntary Action Merthyr Tydfil Amser Short Breaks Grant, in partnership with Carers Trust Wales

Today we are highlighting...
🌟 Cwm Taf People First
🌟 Behaviour Support Hub

They've told us why the Amser Short Breaks Scheme was so important and the impact it has had on the unpaid carers they work with.

Funded by Welsh Government, the Short Breaks Scheme supports unpaid carers of all ages across Wales to take a meaningful break from their caring role. Short breaks give carers the chance to rest, recharge and focus on their own wellbeing - mentally, emotionally and physically.

Breaks can include:
✨ Overnight breaks
✨ Days out and activities
✨ Group activities with other carers
✨ Grants of up to £50 to arrange your own break

Whether it’s a weekend away, a trip to the cinema, a support group or time to relax, every break is designed to give carers precious time for themselves.
