One of my most honoured moments... Back in May I was officially commissioned to be a Street Pastor here in Perth.

What is a Street Pastor exactly.. I hear you ask... Or maybe not ... 🤷🤣

Well... A Street Pastor is a trained Christian volunteer who goes out into city centres —typically at night or during weekends—to provide support, care, and a calming presence to people in need, especially in nightlife settings. The role originated in the UK in 2003 through the Ascension Trust and has since spread to various countries.

Key roles of a Street Pastor:

Offering help to vulnerable individuals (e.g., those who are intoxicated, lost, or distressed)

Listening to people without judgment or preaching

Providing practical support like water, flip-flops, blankets and lolly pops. ( Which are a firm favourite with the youngsters)

Working with police, councils, and local businesses to make communities safer

Reducing anti-social behavior by being a visible, compassionate presence

What we are not:

We are not preachers on the street or evangelists in the traditional sense.

We are not law enforcement or security personnel.

Our role is pastoral and supportive, not confrontational or religiously aggressive.

It's a blessing to be part of this organisation. Boots of peace on the ground.. And a great way to support my community. The work these pastors have being doing over the years is incredible. Everyday heroes on the streets, helping to keep people safe 🙏🏼🥰

Thanks for having me in the team 🙏🏼🥰

‘This is he who made the heavens and the earth, and formed humanity in the beginning, who is announced by the law and prophets, who was enfleshed in a virgin, who was hanged on the tree, who was buried in the earth, who was raised from the dead, and went up to the heights of heaven, who is sitting on the right hand of the Father, who has authority to judge and save all things, through whom the Father made the things which exist, from the beginning to all the ages.

This one is ‘the Alpha and Omega,’ this one is ‘the beginning and the end,’ – the beginning which cannot be explained and the end which cannot be grasped. This one is the Christ. This one is the King. This one is Jesus. This one is the Leader. This one is the Lord. This one is he who has risen from the dead. This one is he who sits at the right hand of the Father. He bears the Father and is borne by the Father. ‘To him be the glory and the power to the ends of the ages. Amen.’ *

Written by Bishop Melito of Sardis, who lived in the second century, paints a compelling picture of my resurrected Saviour: 🙏🏼🕺❤️
