At Freedom From Fistula, our work goes far beyond surgery alone.

We treat women living with obstetric fistula and provide compassionate care throughout their recovery.

But we also work to prevent future childbirth injuries and improve maternal healthcare for women and girls.

Every day, across our three Freedom From Fistula centres in Malawi, Sierra Leone and Madagascar, women are reclaiming their health, hope and future.

Reclaiming the chance to walk through their communities without shame.

Reclaiming friendships, family life and confidence.

Reclaiming joy.

Behind every smile you see in these photographs is a story.

A story of loss.
Of trauma.
Of isolation.
Of unimaginable physical and emotional pain.

But also a story of courage, healing and hope.
