Jollity Express offers official Makaton Workshops Level 1-4 and taster sessions, these can be delivered online or in person. Dates for future workshops will be published for individuals to book but if organisations/groups would like to arrange private group Workshops these can be arranged. Makaton ‘in a nutshell’:
Makaton is a language programme that uses signs, symbols and speech. It supports the development of essential communication skills such as attention, listening, comprehension and memory recall. Signs & Symbols (accompanied with speech) can be helpful for someone who has limited speech or is pre-verbal, providing a way for them to express their thoughts, wants and needs. If a persons speech is unclear signs can be helpful to provide clues about what the person is saying.
