URGENT APPEAL FOR HELP PLEASE - New article live on Marketing Notts about the long completion of this opus magnum Opera composed by Nottingham's own maestro Andrew Nicklin.
Unfortunately, Andrew is rapidly declining, with genuine concerns whether he may make this Xmas. But the act 2 score file has corrupted! I may have the only extant copy - on paper. Can anyone get this scanned securely so I can ensure the work is preserved? This is a duty now, I'm not charging. Possible fees of £50- 100 at NTU scanning services apparently. It's 1400 bars = 200 sides = 100 sheets double sided. Plus I need to know whoever does it realises it may be the only copy of this work.
I intend to use AI to reconvert this scanned pdf to XML or MIDI as well , but it's critical the act 2 score survives and gets archived at the right places as a plain pdf first. XML from the finished audio I have is not a viable option.
So also, anyone got any links to National G&S opera or Opera North or any National opera organisations so I can get it to the right places? It's not my area of the industry, despite having got it over the completion line earlier this year ...and I clearly don't have much time to try and find the right connection so it gets archived. I suspect it's not even published i.e there's no music publishing deal in place 😐
