An amber Heat Health Alert is now in place across much of the country.

With high temperatures building throughout the week, red Heat Health Alerts will also be in place for some over the coming days.

Please take extra care in the hot weather by:
🫗Drinking plenty of fluids
🌞Keeping out of the sun between 11am and 3pm if at all possible
👒Wearing a sun hat, loose cool fitting clothes and wear sunscreen when you are outside
🪟Keep curtains, blinds and windows closed in the daytime - open them in the evenings to let cooler air to circulate
👴🏼Check on older and more vulnerable friends, family or neighbours who can be more at risk in the heat.

There's lots of useful tips on staying safe in the heat and looking after others on the Met Office website:

It's Carers Week - an annual campaign that recognises the incredible contribution made by unpaid carers across the UK.

We want to use the week to say a big thank you to everybody who is a carer. Your contribution is invaluable to families, communities and the wider health and social care system.

At Nottingham on Call, we’re proud to be able to play a role in supporting carers by providing services that help people live independently while offering reassurance to those who care for them.

We're here to help. Find out more: https://www.nottinghamoncall.com/latest-news/latest-news/carers-week-2026-supporting-those-who-care-every-day/
