There’s something about this time of year that makes you pause for a moment.

VE Day… 8th May.

A date that marks the end of the war in Europe back in 1945.

But more than that, it’s a reminder of courage, resilience, and everything that was sacrificed for the lives we live today.

As I was working on this piece, I kept thinking about the stories behind it.
The skies filled with aircraft. The uncertainty. The hope.
And then… the relief when it was finally over.

The RAF roundel, the trails across the sky, it’s my way of quietly honouring that moment in history.
Not just the victory, but the people behind it.

It feels especially meaningful this year as we mark 81 years, it’s a chance to remember, reflect, and keep those stories alive.

If you’re marking VE Day this year, whether it’s a small moment at home or something with your community…
take a second to think about what it really represents 💙

Lest we forget.
