ability to come along to any of our lessons. Principal, Stacey Gaunt is a fully qualified I.S.T.D teacher with years of experience both as a performer and choreographer. Stacey was a semi-finalist alongside partner JP Omari on BBC 1 Saturday night television programme “Strictly Dance Fever”in 2006. Stacey has worked extensively throughout the UK as a free-lance teacher and choreographer, and is very proud to include ITV X-Factor runner up, Marcus Collins as a former pupil. FDP also has a team of fantastic teaching staff, all professionals in their field and regularly invites guest teachers in to pass on their wealth of knowledge to the students. Here at FDP we are trying to do something a little different. Although Stacey Gaunt is a trained I.S.T.D teacher no official examinations will be taken, the children will learn set exercises every week that will improve their technique. Instead, we believe that children develop quicker through participating in lessons that are predominately “free work” based. Often the children will learn far more advanced work during these classes than set syllabus, and thus reach a much higher standard in a shorter space of time. It also helps the dancer/performer keep the interest and enthusiasm for much longer. Most performing arts school in the USA follow the same process, and the results are phenomenal.
