Here in the UK there was a huge fireworks event last weekend for Guy Fawkes’ Day.

None of the wildlife near me seem to have returned after that. The local dogs were totally freaked out. There was a woman in the countryside whose horse bolted because of the fireworks, crashed into something, and had to be put down.

Surely no one over the age of 11 finds fireworks entertaining???

It disturbs the wildlife, and I’m inclined to think nobody really cares…….but then I saw this. The Netherlands has banned fireworks.

So wherever you are, how about writing to your local MP, or mayor, or animal welfare group, and petition to stop fireworks at any time of the year.
