Dave Watson

We, the Watson family, are truly sorry to hear that Dave’s former England team mate for almost 9 years, Kevin (Keegan) has now received the news that his cancer is Stage 4.

We know Kev will approach this news with the fortitude and endeavour he can muster (much like he did on the pitch) to be with his loving family as long as possible. We’re not at the penalty shootout stage yet! PENNY

Another wonderful meeting today at Notts County Memory Lane Club with Gary Lund speaking. We also raised a toast to the magnificent Magpies win on Monday. COYP ⚽️🏆 Thank you County for providing this facility for us (especially Joe Palmer).

Today will be an emotional day for several at this wonderful Manchester club at the Etihad today. No doubt the fantastic City fans will give a rousing thank you and goodbye to 3 special people who have been instrumental in maintaining the Blues greatness. Unfortunately we cannot be there due to Dave’s health but will be there in spirit - MCFC have always looked after their former players including us, which has meant a lot to the Watson family. Thank you Danny Wilson for facilitating most of that.

We are especially sad to see John Stones moving on but delighted he has been included in the England squad. He is a lovely guy who spent time and came to talk privately to Dave when we were there a couple of years ago - 2 City number 5s and 2 England number 5s.

Unfortunately Dave never spoke with Pep or Bernardo but admires them both greatly.
We hope that JohnStones has a great time at the World Cup and beyond.
