The park was laid out in the early 1920's as a public park on the initiative of Sir Jesse Boot and to designs by Richard Percy Morley Horder. It is one of the first man-made, large-scale public parks of the 20th century. The park is open to for public access 365 days per year from dawn until dusk and features a boating lake, bowling greens, croquet lawns, pavilions, historic bridges and infrastructure, adventure golf course, children's play area, cascade and the Lakeside Arts Centre and cafe.

☀️ With the sunshine making a glorious comeback, we know everyone’s keen to get outside and soak it all in — especially in our lovely parks and green spaces!

🌾 Please remember: the grass is super dry right now, so please take extra care. That means no barbecues, and if you're smoking, be mindful not to drop ci******es or matches.

🌿 Let’s all do our part to protect these beautiful spaces so we can keep enjoying them together — safely, kindly, and with a smile.
