Letβs talk mental health π
Many of us are aware that men are more likely to die by su***de than women. But, did you know that the number of many major mental health difficulties is higher among women?
Surveys have found that women have lower levels of positive mental health compared to men and these are a few of the factors affecting them:
π Race
π Stress
π Mothering & caring
π Gender
π Body image
π Trauma
π and Social class
We all know the saying βyou canβt pour from an empty cupβ.
Well, women are often the primary caregivers and balancing work, family, and health can be a major challenge for all of us.
The good news is that simple daily habits can help to protect our mental health such as:
π Taking care of ourselves physically
π Eating a healthy balanced diet
π Getting regular exercise
π Getting enough sleep
π Reducing alcohol and ni****ne
π Taking time to relax
π Spending time with friends and family
π and Making time for things that we enjoy
Physical symptoms such as these that we wouldnβt usually experience, can be signs that we are struggling mentally:
π Fatigue
π Difficulty sleeping
π Sickness
π Aches & pains
π Feelings of overwhelm
π Feeling helpless
π or Feeling unable to cope
