Virtual 2 Reality

So it’s Friday 13th March today…

For me, superstitions are total nonsense.

But once upon a time, they weren’t.

Growing up I remember hearing all sorts of things you “mustn’t” do…

🚫 Don’t walk under ladders

🐈‍⬛ Don’t let a black cat cross your path

🪞 Don’t break a mirror (apparently that’s 7 years bad luck!)

👟 And definitely don’t put new shoes on the table

Looking back, it’s funny how many of these things we accepted without ever questioning where they came from.

The whole Friday the 13th idea likely comes from a mix of history and folklore:

• At The Last Supper there were 13 people at the table, with Judas — the betrayer — often said to be the 13th guest

• Friday already had a bad reputation in medieval times because it’s traditionally believed to be the day of the crucifixion

• The Knights Templar were arrested on Friday 13th October 1307

But interestingly, the superstition itself didn’t really become widespread until the early 1900s.
So for centuries nobody really thought twice about it… and then suddenly it became “unlucky”.

Which makes me think most of it is just a load of nonsense 😄

That said…
