The day a spirit communicator taught me that 'rude' and 'mediumship' don't always agree... !

Sometimes people assume that because I've worked as a medium for many years, I've never questioned any of it.

The truth is, whilst I rarely doubt my mediumship, every now and then I find myself checking in.

Not because I don't believe in spirit or trust what I do. But because integrity matters deeply to me.

When you're working with people's hearts, their grief, their loved ones and their lives, I think it's healthy to occasionally ask yourself questions.

Whenever that happens, I always go back to my very first encounter.....

I'd been aware of things from a young age. As I grew up, I was fascinated by anything spiritual.

I read books, watched films like 'Ghost' repeatedly, and was endlessly curious about what happened after we die.

I would notice little things, have experiences I couldn't explain and occasionally tell people about them. Yet a part of me still wondered if I was imagining it all.

Later, I learned Reiki, and something began to shift. For the first time, I found myself around people who openly talked about 'Spiritual Stuff'.

I felt different somehow. More aware. More open. More connected. I couldn't explain it, but I was excited by the changes I was experiencing.

Then I was invited to attend a newly formed spiritual circle.

I remember feeling nervous and excited all at once. I really felt that something was going to happen but had no idea what.

But underneath that excitement was another thought:

"What if I've been making this all up?"

What if I got there and realised it was all my imagination?

What if everything I'd experienced meant absolutely nothing?

During the evening, we were taken on a guided meditation. Afterwards, while the teacher was talking to the group about how the circle would unfold, I heard someone speak to me.

Not out loud....... Inside my mind.

"Hello dear."
I immediately dismissed it.

A few moments later:
"Hello dear."

Again, I pushed it aside, questioning did I hear that because I thought I'd heard it the first time?

At this point, I was doing what most people do. Trying to rationalise it.

Then it came a third time.

Eventually I replied "hello" in my mind, thinking that would be the end of it and I could get on with what the teacher was saying.

It wasn't.

Then a response came:

"Interrupt him"

At that point I was shocked and absolutely knew I wouldn't make something like that up!

Absolutely not.

There was no way I was interrupting the teacher in front of a room full of strangers.

What followed was several minutes of what can only be described as an argument. But I like to call it dialogue

"I can't."
"Yes you can, dear."
"No, I can't."
"Why dear?"
"Because it's rude."
"No dear, it's not rude."

I even remember a sense of humour about it, she giggled as though she found my resistance highly entertaining.

Then when there was a pause in the teacher speaking she said

"Do it now!"
"No."
"Go on dear."
"No."
"Go on do it now."

Honestly, it went on like this for a couple of minutes.

Then, completely out of the blue, the teacher stopped talking, looked directly at me and said:

"Carmela, have you got something to say?"

I nearly fell off my chair ! 😳

"No (rude?) .....
Why? ....
I don't know... ?
Err... someone is telling me to interrupt you?"

He smiled and said:

"Okay everyone, Carmela has a link."

A link?
What on earth was a link?

Before I knew it, I was standing in the middle of the circle convinced I was about to make a complete fool of myself.

The teacher gently guided me, encouraging me to trust the first thing I saw, felt and heard.

Then he asked me if I had a name.

I hesitated for a moment.

"Margo?"

He asked the group...... Silence

Nobody recognised it.

Inside, I was absolutely mortified.

"This is it," I thought.
"I've been wrong all this time."
"It's all in my head."

The teacher gently encouraged me to stay with it and to keep trusting.

Then, all of a sudden, I heard myself say:

"Margaret.... here name is Margaret:

A hand immediately went up.

Yes.

The relief was enormous.

After that, through his guidance, one piece of information followed another.

Every time I gave something and it was recognised, I kept looking back at the teacher in complete disbelief.

I wasn't only amazed by what I was saying...... I was amazed that it was working!

That evening changed the course of my life.

Not because all my questions disappeared. They didn't.

But because spirit stopped being something I wondered about and became something I had experienced for myself.

Perhaps that's why I still love telling this story to clients today.

Many arrive with questions.
Some are curious.
Some are sceptical.
Some are hopeful.

And some are quietly wondering whether any of this could possibly be real.

I understand that.

Because once upon a time, I was sitting in a circle wondering exactly the same thing.

Whenever I think back to that evening, I smile.

To the nervous woman sitting in her first circle.

To the gentle voice that simply said:

"Hello dear."

And to the communicator who was absolutely determined that I interrupt the teacher.

I call it...

💎 Polishing the Diamond Within 💎

I've been reflecting...

At the start of my spiritual development, I used to receive so many visions, symbols and insights during meditation. Recently, I was reminded of one that has stayed with me all these years.

During a deep meditation, I was shown a beautiful diamond.

When I asked why I was being shown it, the answer came:

"YOU ARE ALL DIAMONDS."

At the time, it seemed such a simple message. But over the years, and especially through the deeper inner work I've been doing recently, I've come to understand it on a much deeper level.

A diamond is made up of many facets, and each one must be carefully polished before it can fully reflect the light.

A diamond isn't created sparkling and flawless. It is formed under immense pressure and then carefully cut and polished. Each facet is worked on individually until it can fully reflect the light.

Our growth is much the same.

Every challenge we face, every wound we heal, every fear we have the courage to look at, and every shadow we bring into awareness is another facet being polished.

Sometimes the process feels uncomfortable. Sometimes it asks us to go deeper than we'd like. Yet it is often in those places that the greatest growth occurs.

I've come to realise that this journey isn't about fixing ourselves, because we were never broken.

'It's About Understanding Ourselves'

It's about 'Becoming More Conscious' of who we are beneath the conditioning, fears, expectations and stories we've carried throughout our lives.

And if you find yourself struggling, feeling stuck, or unsure how to move forward, seek help. We are not meant to walk every part of this journey alone. Sometimes another person can help us see what we cannot see for ourselves.

Whether it's a trusted friend, teacher, therapist, healer, mentor or guide, there is strength in reaching out and allowing yourself to be supported. Sometimes that support is exactly what helps us polish the next facet of our diamond.

And with every facet that shines, more of our true nature is revealed!

The light is already there.
The work is simply allowing it to shine.

✨ Shine your Light ! ✨

Much love ❤️
