DipsMusselburgh

Morning all.

Rosemary and I have had a blether about the way forward given MHS have closed.
We are not in a position to run official organised dips. No longer insured etc.

However, there is enough of an appetite to have a group where dips can be arranged by anyone. People would be responsible for themselves.

This FB page will close in time (as it requires a level of admin only necessary for organised dips). If anyone who has dipped with us in the past, wants to be added to a WhatsApp group PM me.

Dips will still mainly be in musselburgh but it does give scope for dips in other locations, from time to time. This is a purely social group and not connected to either MHS or Changes East Lothian.

Lucked out on the weather again today.
Liz and I had a fab dip.

Well, one sign left at beach to advise against bathing. Its now 'out of season' so Sepa stop testing and I called them this morning but they couldn't advise beyond last sample on 9th Sept, which was poor. Given it was poor on Monday and following incident, we're going to cancel today and give the water another week or 2. Apologies.

SEPA’s bathing water signage at Fisherrow Sands has been updated to advise against bathing. This is a precaution, due to the ongoing pollution incident affecting the River North Esk.

We'll need to keep an eye on this to see if it's safe for dipping next week. 😔
