I get hundreds of messages every week that I can’t get round to answering. So here’s the most common and the answers to hopefully help anyone wanting info 😀😀

1)IS THE MARKET ON TODAY?

The market is on EVERY Sunday unless it falls on Xmas day or New Year’s Day.
If it is cancelled I’ll post on the page as soon as I hear about it. The decision will not be made by the council until the morning of the market.
It’s only cancelled if extreme weather makes it too dangerous to trade. Also If we have to close early due to weather I will pop a post on the page.

Q)WHAT TIME IS THE MARKET ON?

The market runs from 9am-4pm.

3) WHERE CAN I PARK?
There is a multi storey car park behind the Law Courts which is the closet. The road along the market is closed to the public from 8-5.

4) LOOKING FOR A PARTICULAR TRADER??
If I can help I will but as I’m a trader I don’t know everyone on the market especially if they’re not a permanent stall. Unfortunately I don’t have contact details unless I know them personally and can’t leave my stall to pass messages on.

Q)HOW CAN I GET A PITCH?

I’m just a trader managing this page to keep customers updated of cancellations, so have no say on who gets a pitch, you need to contact Newcastle Council for anything official but I can give you a rundown of how it works…
Most traders here are permanent and have the same pitch every week but there is a handful of casual pitches which are allocated on the day. You can not pre book these you just need to turn up at 8.30am with your 10million public liability insurance and see if they can fit you in. You will need your own stall, at least 25kg of weights for each leg, food traders need a 5* food hygiene rating and all traders must comply with labelling laws related to their product.
NO ALCOHOL is allowed to be sold in the market.
